About Me

Hi, I’m Kevin, 40 and from Leeds. I live with my fiancé, Sarah and 3 children, Erin (13,), Edward (10) and Amelie (4).

Having quit playing football at around 30, I turned to running to get some fitness goals in, first 10k, then progressed to half marathons, then my first marathon in 2013. I’ve run 6 marathons with a reasonable pb of 3 hours 40, aiming for sub 3.30 next time out (without fancy dress!) I missed out on the London ballot so many times, I realised I needed to commit to a charity. In 2016, a great, local charity to Leeds, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal that I had supported, had one golden bond place with a lot of competition for it, I decided to go all in and offer to go in fancy dress; being called Kevin and the Despicable ME films recently being out, I found a suitable Kevin the Minion costume, and the rest is history! The MaraMinion (Marathon running Minion) was born! It got some great press in 2016, making the Telegraph as well as the TV credits on the BBC.

For a few years, life got in the way, but now the MaraMinion is back with some big fundraising goals to support some fantastic charities doing great work, who importantly, really need YOUR support!
